Urban Events Venues & Catering has EOFY covered
Tuesday, 3 May 2016:
It may be the end of the financial year but it’s just the start of the party with Urban Events Venues & Catering, an arm of Urban Purveyor Group, which ends the year with a pumped up portfolio of over 90 designer spaces available for private hire across NSW, Victoria and Queensland.
Plan an Italian EOFY soiree at one of five Fratelli Fresh restaurants that have just been added to the Group. The Sydney restaurants (Alexandria, Potts Point, Macquarie Street, Bridge Street, and Walsh Bay) can be exclusively booked for corporate and social events, or private dining rooms offer something more intimate. Fratelli’s renowned Italian menu is also available for external catering events, so if you can’t come to Fratelli, Fratelli can come to you. Buon appetito!
Francophiles can get their fill at the new Café Ananas at Circular Quay. It’s the perfect spot to wow corporate clients, with views of the bustling quay and a Harbour Bridge backdrop. This lovely, light-filled, spacious venue can be hired for a private function, or a private dining space caters to 25 guests.
Event organisers looking to spice things up can be amongst the first to book an exclusive hire for up to 350 people at El Camino Cantina, a brand new Tex-Mex restaurant and bar in The Rocks (due to open late May). With a fiery attitude and menu, freshly shaken Margaritas and a raucous rock ‘n’ roll vibe, it also has a semi-private event space called the ‘27 Club’ for up to 50 guests that spills onto a terrace overlooking The Argyle precinct’s cobblestone courtyard. Urban Events, now a Gold Licence caterer, also boasts Tex-Mex as another external catering option.
Party planners can go the whole rodeo and hire The Argyle precinct in its entirety to host a Tex-Mex fiesta for up to 3000 guests. There are four other cuisines on offer (Japanese, Italian, Bavarian and French), or a tailored menu can be requested to match an event. There are five floors over two levels at The Argyle, which caters to private functions and cocktail soirees of up to 1500 guests. A recent soft refresh adds a new bar to the ground floor and a makeover for the iconic Belvedere Bar.
In Melbourne the newly-launched Saké Flinders Lane, with a menu by three-Michelin star credentialed Jean Paul Lourdes, has a downstairs bar, rotating line-up of top DJs and a bar licence until 3am (Thursday-Saturday). The stunning, two-storey venue can be hired out in its entirety (250 guests), or as separate floors. There are two private dining rooms (catering to 14 and 16 guests), an outdoor courtyard (40 guests), and semi-private space on the ground floor that caters to 40 guests.
Keep an eye out for the launch of The Alfred (7 Alfred Place, Melbourne), which is set to open in June. This architecturally magnificent, two-storey space has maximum capacity for 900 guests across both floors. The Cut Steakhouse and a Hemingway meets Ralph Lauren-style bespoke bar are highlights of this late-night entertainment destination.
Alongside Urban Events’ new spaces are a number of firm favourites, including Munich Brauhaus in Melbourne and Sydney, which cater to 1200 and 600 guests respectively. Along with their Bavarian Bier Café counterparts they offer exuberant bier haul experiences, including oompah bands and hearty Bavarian menus.
A new games room at the Bavarian Bier Café Entertainment Quarter (Sydney), complete with pool tables, table soccer, and a huge chess board on the outside deck, is the perfect pre or post-match entertainment destination, and will transform a cocktail party into a whole lot of fun.
There are also exquisite contemporary Japanese menus and private dining experiences at Saké Hamer Hall (Melbourne), Eagle Street Pier (Brisbane) and The Rocks and Double Bay (Sydney). Recently launched sake and sashimi masterclasses offer the perfect team building experience and menus can be tailored to requirements.
